Edwards Business Systems is excited to announce its first annual Derby Day at PNC Park, benefiting the Boy Scouts of America!

Edwards Business Systems and Konica Minolta have teamed up to present the First Annual EBS Derby Day at PNC Field.  It will be a fun day of competition, music, food and networking, all to support the Boy Scouts of America in the Northeast Pennsylvania Council.  All the money raised will be used to enhance the summer camp program.

Dexter Loeble, Regional Salas Manager of EBS in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre said “We are extremely excited and honored to plan this event to benefit such a good cause.  This is the first year we’ve sponsored such a unique event like this, and we’re anticipating a great turn out.  We’ve held events at PNC Field before and they have always been a great time, so we are confident that Derby Day will be too.” 

The event will be held on July 16, 2011 from 11:00am to 4:30pm at PNC Park in Moosic, PA.  Participants can register online at ebs.ticketleap.com/derbyday2011.

Kendra Punko, the coordinator of Derby Day 2011 and document management specialist at EBS in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre commented “Planning an event like this is a lot of work, but I know it will all pay off when we’re all on the field having fun with friends.  It’s a great opportunity to meet new people and do something different on the weekend.  Even if guests just want to watch the derby race, the homerun derby or the fast pitch competition, they will have a great time, good food, and lots of terrific friendships.”

Come out and enjoy the fun.  General Admission is free, but purchase of a meal ticket will help support the Boy Scouts of America.

Adult Class Pinewood Derby Race:
Participants 18+ years of age can build their own Pinewood Derby Car and compete to
win prizes.  Get a second chance to build and race the car you wish you had build when you were a kid!  There will be an official scouting rules class and a hybrid class.  Your registration includes an official Pinewood Derby Car kit and rules, lunch and a commemorative photo, $25. If you bring your own car, $10

Homerun Derby:
Participants 18+ years of age will get 10 pitches each in the first round.  The winner from each round will advance to the finals for a chance to be the NEPA Homerun Champion.  Registration includes first round and commemorative photo. $10

Fast Pitch Contest
Try your hand and test your speed as you pitch against the radar in the Scranton/Wilkes Barre Yankees Bullpen.  Registration includes first round and commemorative photo.  $10
