Field Service Technician, Lewisburg PA

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Service Manager

DEPARTMENT: SERVICE

Job Objective:

The Field Service Technician provides installation, field maintenance and routine service on copiers and office equipment to our customers and clients, while providing each customer with outstanding customer service in a professional, courteous and knowledgeable manner.

Job Duties:

  • Maintain parts inventory for accuracy and integrity
  • Inform management of any and all issues relating to customer issues
  • Provide technical support for client base on copiers and printers
  • Be able to provide after-hours support and/or overtime as needed
  • Maintain positive attitude with both client employees and EBS/VBS employees
  • Always treat customer in a positive professional manner
  • Must be dependable and punctual
  • Make prudent decisions required to maintain equipment in field to standards without jeopardizing performance of said equipment
  • Maintain a high level of technical expertise with emphasis on continuing training
  • Continue to upgrade knowledge to improve effectiveness on the equipment
  • Maintain appropriate professional appearance
  • Be productive – ask for direction if needed.

Physical Demands:

  • Stand – Remaining on one’s feet in an upright position without moving about
  • Walking – Moving about on foot
  • Lifting – Raising or lowering an object from one level or area to another 25-50 lbs
  • Carrying – Transporting an object, usually holding it in the hands or arms, or on the shoulder
  • Climbing – Ascending or descending stairs or ramps using feet and legs or hands and arms
  • Stooping – Bending body downward and forward by bending at the knee
  • Handling – Seizing, holding, grasping, turning or otherwise working with hand or hands

Environmental Conditions:

  • Exposure to weather including heat, cold, wet and/or humid

Job Requirements:

  • Electronics or copier background preferred
  • Knowledge of computers and networks
  • Self-starter and self-motivated
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Dependable
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Able to travel at times for technical schools
  • Have own transportation and a valid driver’s license
